h2. Small Farms Making a Difference

The East Lake Market is a weekly producer only farmers market open every Saturday from May through mid-October in the Parking Lot of East Lake United Methodist Church. We currently have four anchor farmers, several seasonal vendors and multiple craft vendors who come and set up each week, along with live music, baked goods from the Downstairs Diner and Backdoor Bakery and East Lake UMC’s famous Breakfast Burritos. We host cooking demonstrations by UAB Medical Students and healthy living and community events throughout the season.

With our partnership with the Food Bank and Double Up Bucks Program we are also able to assist families who utilize EBT allowing them to get twice the produce for half the price. This has been a great resource and an amazing help to the families we reach.
